Kansas Beef Council Partners with KSHSAA as Official Protein Sponsor of Kansas High School Athletics

Posted November 26, 2025

The Kansas Beef Council (KBC) is proud to announce its official partnership with the Kansas High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) as the Official Protein Sponsor of Kansas high school athletics. This partnership spotlights the strength and community spirit of Kansas student athletes while showcasing beef as the protein that powers their success.

To launch the partnership, KBC sponsored the 2025 Kansas Football Championships and will expand support in 2026 to include multiple state championship events, reaching more than 400,000 fans across the state each school year.

A key component of the partnership includes the Sports Nutrition Game Plan, a free online resource designed to help athletes, coaches and parents learn how to properly fuel for performance. Developed by a registered dietitian, the program offers science-based nutrition guidance, including videos, recipes, meal plans and hydration tips, all emphasizing beef’s role as a high-quality protein for performance and recovery.

“As a former student-athlete, beef was always at the center of my plate and played a key role in my success,” KBC executive committee member Jacquelyne Leffler said. “Now, as a beef producer, I understand firsthand the power of that protein. It’s exciting to see KBC fueling today’s athletes and helping champions put beef at the center of their plates.”

With more than 140 Kansas coaches and trainers already enrolled, the program continues to grow as schools without access to a sports dietitian seek reliable nutrition education. Through digital, social and event-based promotions, this partnership keeps beef top of mind with athletes and families while strengthening trust and demand.

“The Kansas Beef Council is proud to invest Checkoff dollars into partnerships that strengthen the next generation of leaders,” KBC Executive Director Scott Stebner said. “By supporting KSHSAA and high school athletics, we’re showcasing beef’s role in powering performance and helping athletes reach their full potential.”

Kansas beef producers’ Checkoff dollars continue to power education and partnerships that promote beef as the ultimate high-quality protein for performance and recovery.
